I have been on a mission the past two days. To clean.
Brenna's room was finished yesterday. Even though that was one room down with 4 more to go, it was so nice to go to sleep with a feeling of accomplishment.
It hit me yesterday that anything that involves your children, even by association, is usually blog worthy.
Having that said, I have to share my Adventures in Cleaning...
Day 1
Everyone has that cabinet or dresser that cannot be moved. The one that has the little decorative footing at the bottom with just enough of an openeing that dust and tiny toys can get in, but you are challenged to get them out. Well, I happen to have many of those in my house. Two of which reside in Brenna's room. To make matters worse, we have hard wood flooring throughout our house.
I find myself a little nervous (I have major spider phobia) as I lay down with my cheek pressed firmly on her floor in front of the first, flash light in one hand, yard stick (there is absolutely NO WAY my hand is going under there - see phobia reference) in the other, and the vacuum ready. I click on the flash light to see what awaits. Dust bunnies, lost mini-toys, animal hair, and a random piece of cardboard. Not too bad.
Next. I call in my husband to handle this one. It is notorious for spiders. He gives me the all clear. Only one lost toy under there and not much dust.
As the vacuum hose is shoved under the first then second dresser, I hear the all too familar crackle crackle, as it sucks up a missed, unknown item. I use to stress over such things. Now it's only, "Hmmm. Wonder what that was? Sounded big?"
I have more pressing matters to think of. For example: "How long have those fruit snacks been in the My Little Pony basket?" and "Where did that cardboard come from?"
